About Us

We at the Chile Pepper Task Force are constantly working to identify best management practices that will help increase yield and profitability for the grower. We are currently involved in mechanical thinning, harvesting, and field cleaning projects for chile production. Mechanization is key to the survival of the industry in the state. We are looking at drip irrigation as a means to help growers efficiently use scarce water resources to maximize profitable chile production. Team players include growers, processors, crop consultants, industry supply and equipment specialists, state and federal agricultural specialists, and NMSU researchers, Extension specialists, county agents, and engineers.
