New Association to Guide the Chile Industry
New Mexico chile growers and processors will now be able to advance their industry through the newly formed and independent New Mexico Chile Association (NMCA). The group will build on the foundation established during the last eight years by the NMSU-sponsored New Mexico Chile Task Force. NMCA will launch new projects that association members identify as needed to strengthen the industry’s competitive position in the modern global marketplace. It will continue to pursue advanced technologies and new chile cultivars. NMSU will continue to support the industry and respond to the organization’s priorities.
The NMCA leadership team includes Gene Baca of Bueno Foods, Albuquerque; Dino Cervantes of Cervantes Enterprises, La Mesa; and Lou Biad of Rezolex Inc., Radium Springs.
